Frequently asked questions

Which procurement KPIs should we start with?

Start with five or fewer you can measure reliably, for example savings against baseline, spend under management, requisition-to-PO cycle time, on-time delivery rate, and touchless invoice rate. Add more only when the first set is trusted.

How do we define the savings baseline?

Agree the reference price before the sourcing event: usually the last paid price or a documented market benchmark. Using one definition consistently matters more than which one you choose.

How often should procurement KPIs be reviewed?

Operational measures such as cycle time and invoice matching are usually reviewed monthly. Strategic measures such as spend under management and concentration are reviewed quarterly.
